BUSINESS VISA (F-visas) –

The activities permissible under the F visa are as follows: research, lecture, business, exchanges in the fields of science, technology, education, culture and sports, or attending various kinds of trade fairs or exhibitions, or short-term study, intern practice, for a period of no more than 6 months. 

Supporting documentation:

•  An original passport which has more than 6 months left before it expires from the date of application and at least 2 blank visa pages;

•  Evidence of the applicant UK immigration status, if applicable - the right to reside and work in the UK should be for at least 6 months;

•  One recent passport sized photographs on light plain background;

•  A dully completed and signed Visa Application Form ( Download ) – if you have a Chinese name it should be included in the form in Chinese – undecipherable characters may result in your application being rejected - ENSURE that your signature on the form is identical to your signature in your passport

•  A letter of invitation from the host company or institution in China or Visa Notification Form issued by an authorized unit in China ( for detailed information on the Visa Notification Form, please consult the foreign affairs office of the province, autonomous region or municipality where your host is located). 

THE LETTER OF INVITATION must be on official headed paper showing the full name of the company, its address and contact details. The letter must include the applicants' full name, date of birth, nationality, passport's number, the intended date of travel and the purpose of the visit.

Your application will be rejected if your letter of invitation does not comply with the above listed requirements.

 THE VISA NOTIFICATION FORM is a pre-approval document issued by a Chinese Government agency. Your host in China should obtain this on your behalf by approaching one of the agencies listed below:
